Updated decontamination advice notes from SHTG

The Scottish Health Technology Group (SHTG) within Healthcare Improvement Scotland has recently published updates to two advice statements that are relevant to decontamination in dental practice.  These relate to types of steam sterilzer and storage of dental instruments that have been sterilized unwrapped.  For both of these, SHTG did not identify any evidence that indicates the need to change practice that is currently recommended in SDCEP’s Decontamination into Practice Guidance.
