Printing of GP17(PR) forms

Posted by: Nicole Alterado - Posted on:

Health boards should have received the following email today regarding the status of GP17 (PR) forms:

The Scottish Government is aware of an issue with the reprinting of GP17(PR) dental forms. APS, the printer, is apparently unable to reprint these forms because of a holdup in the relevant Purchase Orders being raised at the Scottish Government end (and thus invoices cannot be issued, receipted and paid). This is directly because of issues following the introduction of a new Scottish Government HR and Finance system (Oracle Cloud) at the beginning of October.

Now that we’re aware, the SG dental and optometry policy teams have escalated the matter internally so hopefully it will be resolved shortly. In the meantime, if local Board stocks of the GP17(PR) forms run out and orders from dental practices cannot be fulfilled, you have authorisation to advise the practices to temporarily photocopy these forms on the basis that it’s acceptable to get patients to sign these photocopied forms.  Please liaise with their logistics/procurement team in the event of any difficulty being faced by the dental practices photocopying locally.
