The draft  updated Scottish Dental clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP)  guidance on Conscious Sedation in Dentistry is now available for consultation.

The consultation period ends on  Friday 3rd February 2017.

This third edition updates the SDCEP 2012 Conscious Sedation in Dentistry . It has been subject to a thorough update using SDCEP’s NICE accredited methodology taking into account specific developments since it was first published in 2006. This has included communication with the Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry (IACSD) regarding the IACSD Report published in 2015.

Feedback on any aspect of the guidance is welcome.  The consultation document is available on the SDCEP website.

Implementation of the guideline

During the consultation, short telephone interviews with individuals across the UK involved in the provision of dental sedation will be carried out to inform future implementation of the guidance.

If you are interested in being interviewed, please email triads@nes.scot.nhs.uk  providing your name, dental sedation role, location and phone number.
