New SDCEP Decontamination Guidance

Posted by: Gregor Preston - Posted on:

SDCEP recently updated its ‘Decontamination Into Practice’ guidance.

A second edition of ‘Cleaning of Dental Instruments’ has been published which reflects recent changes to requirements within dental practice such as the need for a separate LDU and use of a washer disinfector as standard.

SDCEP has also added a new part entitled ‘Managing Decontamination in Dental Practice’, which introduces a checklist for reviewing and recording the status of the practice’s decontamination documentation and a collection of templates that the practice can adapt for its own use.

The checklist and templates are all accessed via SDCEP’s Practice Support Manual (login required).

The ‘Decontamination Into Practice’ Introduction and Appendices have also been recently updated.

The updated ‘Decontamination Into Practice’ guidance can be viewed and downloaded from the SDCEP website.
